Tribute to our founder Anita Lamb Sorrill:

Anita passed away unexpectedly December 13, 2005. She was a jeweler, poet and the moving force behind our
gallery and the arts community in Hannibal. The Hannibal Arts Council presented Anita Sorrill the Paragon
Volunteer Award in 2003-2004. This award was for an Outstanding Art Project to a business or organization that
has helped pull together a community arts project with recognized success and leadership. We honor her memory
by continuing in her footsteps to keep the Alliance Art Gallery 112 N. Hannibal, Missouri alive and thriving. Her
commitment to “A Hand Made Life” will inspire us always.

When you step off the riverboat onto the Hannibal docks here along the Mississippi, you can find us just a couple blocks
to the west. Or, for the landlubbers, we're just about an hour north of St. Louis, near Interstate 72.
Open every day but Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and by request.
This historic old town has a lot to offer to
the tourist: Beautifully preserved and
restored architecture, museums, rides,
caves, fun parks, bed and breakfasts,
quaint shops and delicious food, just for
starters. Don't be surprised to see Mark
Twain still walking around, or even Tom,
Huck, or Becky. Of course, Hannibal has
great art and artists. Find that out yourself
at the Hannibal Alliance Art Gallery
